abandon run (end this life and begin anew)

The Fated are shapers of destiny, forged by chaos and chance. They walk
Ishar under permadeath rules: when a Fated dies, that life is over.

A Fated learns no fixed list of skills. At each level the Dancers offer
a random draw of skills - choose one and it is yours for this life. Rarer
skills enter the pool as you grow. The choice is made at the moment of
leveling, so advance with `train level' when you are ready.

A Fated life holds ten remorts. At each remort, one skill you know may
be bound to your soul. A bound skill belongs to your account: every future
Fated life begins already knowing it, at the strength it was bound - through
death and through ascension alike. A skill may be bound only once, at the
level you have practiced it to, and each bound thread carries loom burden
by its rarity (see KNOTS). Remort ten is the summit, and there is no way
past it: the eleventh prayer does not remort - it ascends (see ASCENSION).

`abandon run' ends the current life without a death, destroying all
items, gold, and progress except your soul-bound skills. Only one living
Fated may exist per account; a new thread is spun only after the old one
is cut by death or abandonment.
